Wooooooooooo-oo!
The PAWSwalk was sooooooo much fun! We brought home so much great loot- countless free treats, like 10 bags of kibble samples, a bandana for Brock & I, plus mom won a tote bag and tshirt for raising over $200. Mom also bought us doggy "donuts" which we havent gotten to EAT yet!!! I have no idea WHAT she is waiting for. And of course mom forgot her camera!!! So we have NO photos from the big event! Geez mom. So Ill just have to relive it for you in words...
We arrived around 10:15am, went to register, got our bandanas, map, schedule of events and coupons for mom's prizes. Then we headed into the big warehouse with all the vendor booths! We got handed snacks at almost every stop, and picked up lots of free samples as we went along. Then we waited in line to Brother could get a free massage, however he was kind of a spaz if you ask me and just wiggled around wagging his little nub tail. After that mom bought the DONUTS!!! Me and brother tried sooooooo hard to sneak them off the table and came SO close too, but no luck.
After that we headed over to the dog park (the PAWSwalk was held at the same park that the nearest off leash area to our house is located- Magnuson Park). It was soo busy there and therefore a ton of FUN. We promptly headed down to the water area to cool off since it was a pretty warm day yesterday. We ended up seeing 4 other huskies there! None of them were ones I knew so we didnt play or anything. After a long dip in the lake we headed back out and over to the PAWSwalk area again.
We picked up a few more freebies, mom bought a catnip toy for the kitties, and then we headed over to the CGC testing area. Mom, Brother and me all stood there for quite a while, not sure why, mom says she wasnt feeling too confident in me- sheesh, thanks mom. Finally she decided to go for it. So we filled out the forms and then stood back to wait our turn. We got to watch 3 other dogs do it before us, while we brushed up on some things on the sidelines. Then it came our turn.. Mom handed Brother off to some woman to hold and into the ring we went.
First I met a nice, but boring man, then I got petted and brushed by the tester woman. Then mom and I did some casual heel around the ring. Then we practiced sit & down, then stay and then recall- yawn. Old news. Then we walked around some more while there was another dog in the ring, I was just hoping mom had some treats in her hand. Then we did yet MORE casual heel, this time we left the ring and walked through the crowds at the booths and back into the ring again. Then some lady walked by with an "umber-ella". And then mom handed me off to the man I met in the beginning and took Brock for a walk through the crowd. And that was it- I passed! Mom said she was very impressed with how well I did, and that I was way better than the other 3 dogs she watched. Uh yeah mom, duh.
After I passed the CGC test we drove to the studio- woohoo! Studio= dogs+treats! However this time I got to stay in the room with the other dogs and mom! We practiced stay a LOT, and down. Mom was being kind of a b**** about it too. She said if I didnt lay down the first time she asked I wouldnt get a treat and then she walked away!!!!!! WT$#@&! After a few times of that I started laying down real quick like, which seemed to make mom pretty happy. And thats good cause that means more treats for me. After that we went outside to a park to practice some more. We did some casual heel which mom says Im the best at- hey all I gotta to is walk next to her and I get FOOD. Whats hard about that? Lastly we did recall. By that time I was sooooooo tired and hot so I wasnt exactly going to sprint over to mom, I dont care what flavor baby food she has. And then the whole class laughed at me cause I was so slow. Even mom made fun of me. Well I have news for them- Im wearing like 3 down coats okay!?! It was 75 degrees out! Sheesh. Well, it gets even better. After class was over, I got to stay after to play with... LOGAN! Hes my buddy that stayed here for 2 weeks a couple months ago. Hes a little Jack Russell. Hes in the class with us so it worked out great! We gnawed on eachother for about 15 mins and then I was pretty pooped out so I laid in a puddle next to the water dish while mom vacuumed.
So, all in all it was a pretty amazing day!!! Then today Brother & I went to Marymoor- the best dog park, the one thats a big farther away and therefore we only get to go to on weekends.. We stayed for about 90 mins, it was sooo fun. And then mom and I went to the beach for a while this evening. The place was FULL of people! It was amazing, I dont think Ive ever seen that many people in one place before. But mom said she is pretty amazed at how well I did there, we practiced casual heel the whole way through the park, past handfuls of dogs- 2 of whom were on the sidewalk next to us and started barking but I never faultered. We even passed a huge crowd of people with big black boxes making music. On the way back to the car I sniffed the most heavenly smell... mom said it was hot dogs on a grill. At that point I pretty much lost my mind and gave mom the middle paw. But I soon realized I couldnt get to the deliciousness so I settled for moms treats again. Eh, oh well.
Well, Im pretty exhausted so Im gonna get to bed now.

That's funny because at our last "event", Mom forgot her camera too! It sounds like you had tons and TONS of fun. How were the donuts? Did you get to try them yet?
