Woooooos,
Hope everypup is staying warm and dry out there! Meanwhile, Washington is slowly drowning!
Saturday & Sunday we got a lot of snow- early Sat evening and early Sun morn. Then early Sun afternoon it started to rain. ...And rain, and rain, and RAIN! It has been dumping the wet stuff heavily allllll night and day! The humans HATE the stuff but I dont mind it much- usually. Today it was just too much! Usually the rain here is light and you dont really notice it (well, sister does since she has practically no hair like the humans- ha-woo!), but it is just down right unpleasant. Mom said there was no way she was taking us to the park yesterday or today... I hope it stops tomorrow!! She did give us all yuuuuumy stuff to chew on instead though- compressed rawhides, bully sticks, bones, etc.
Mom says theres a "flood warning" in effect right now:
Flood Watch:
Issued at: 6:06 PM PST 12/3/07, expires at: 6:15 AM PST 12/4/07
Flood Watch Remains in effect through Wednesday afternoon, The flood watch continues for Portions of western Washington, Including The Following counties, Grays Harbor, King, Lewis, Pierce,, Thurston. Through Wednesday afternoon Heavy rain last night and today is causing rivers to rise above flood stage with some rivers reaching major severity. Rainfall has tapered off but many rivers are still rising in the aftermath.
Flood Warning:
Issued at: 3:24 PM PST 12/3/07, expires at: 3:30 AM PST 12/4/07
The NWS in seattle has issued a Flood warning for urban areas and small streams in the following western Washington counties, clallam county, jefferson county, skagit county, whatcom county, king county, kitsap county, lewis county, mason county, pierce county, snohomish county, thurston county, grays harbor county, Until 330 am pst Tuesday.
At 324 pm pst rain continues to fall across western Washington and major flooding is occurring on many main stem rivers. While rainfall rates have decreased this afternoon, heavy rainfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches in the lowlands over the past 24 to 36 hours has produced widespread urban and small stream flooding. Flood waters will be slow to drain over the next 12 hours.
A flood warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road. When encountering flooded roads make the smart choice, turn around, dont drown.
Runoff from the heavy rains could trigger landslides.
It sounds pretty scary to me! I do love to wade and play in the water, but I dont want to have to swim just to get around!! Mom said a few of her friends' basements flooded too! Oh and, the ceilings at her work are dripping in a few spots! She said 4 of their appointments cancelled today too because of the rain.
The news channel has a whole section on their website about the flooding too!:

Sounds like a lot of people had some pretty bad things happen to them, Im glad our house and family is safe! Out yard is one big mud puddle though- ha-woo!
Well stay safe and dry everypup! Im off to help mom finish putting the finishing touches on our holiday exchange cards! We are still waiting for the very last piece to come in the mail so we can send them out!!!
