Happy Holidays from The Beasts!

Wooos!

I know its been F O R E V E R since we've blogged! And we've missed it and all our friends. We hope to get back in the swing of things in the new year.

Mom has been sooo busy lately and has not had time to be our secretary. She has been busy with school, plus we are still taking care of 6 of the 10 cats we rescued. 1 we are keeping, 1 has gone to her new home with mom's friend in San Francisco, 1 (the mother) escaped (mom says she squeezed out a tiny open window, way high up on the wall, busting the screen out; she thought they had all calmed down enough that no one was going to attempt an escape..) before her spay appt, and 1 was released. In an attempt to re-catch the mom for her spay appt we ended up catching the daddy cat & got him neutered, so we HOPE mamma is not likely to get pregnant again..

Mom has tried contacting every cat rescue in Sacramento, but either never heard back or none had space, then tried finding homes for them herself on facebook, petfinder, and craigslist, through friends, all with no luck. Only one person ever replied the ads and they were not the right fit (someone wanting a kitten as a Christmas gift for her 10 yr old niece). There are simply WAY too many homeless cats in Sacramento.

So mom's friend in Seattle, that has some "connections" from working at local shelters for years, is going to try and get the 2 remaining baby kittens, and the 2 more outgoing ferals, spots at a no-kill shelter near Seattle. As well as at a feral cat rescue north of Seattle. Mom plans to take them all with her on the plane when she flies home for Christmas in a couple weeks. If places cant be found for any of the ferals, they will be re-released outside with their parents and brother. Mom will feed them (in the neighbor's vacant yard) periodically until they can readjust to outdoor life. At least they are all fattened up & healthy for the winter, and spayed/neutered and vaccinated now! Mom did all she could but is all out of time and resources.

Mom is also going to fix the fences so the cats cant get in as easily, and I cant get to them through all the holes! She said hopefully they will learn to stay out of our yard like they had before the babies were born. And Brock always goes outside first to "clear" the yard just in case.

We will probably not be blogging much until January, mom has finals next week, then is flying back to Seattle until the 29th. Dad will be home with us until the 23rd, then some lady is gonna come take care of us at home for a few days til mom & dad get back. Mom said the lady is coming over to meet us all today actually, so I better go get ready!

Until next time, I hope all our friends have a wonderful winter and holiday season!
