pupdate

just a quickie:

last night I played fetch with Alki out back, then played with the flirt pole/lunge line/skunk on a string toy with Royal. havent played with it in a couple mos, he was ECSTATIC. :)

this am we too Brock with us to get coffee, I walked him around outside while Tony got our drinks. he was NUTS. need to go to the dog park tonight FOR SURE. then when we got home I played a fun game of 3-way fetch with the beasts! I love it! Brock was REALLY psyched, proof that he needs to ruuuun. they all ran til they were too hot to go on. :) now Royal & Alki are snoozing, and Brock is going back and forth from laying on the couch to anxiously looking out the window.. Hope to go to the dog park in Rancho Cordova again. Went for an aussie meetup last week, but the main area was closed, and the area we were in was WAY too small, and WAY too packed. So I went back mid-day on the 3rd and it was all blocked off and closed because they were setting up for a huge park-wide event for the 4th. :P So, I HOPE we can go tonight and that the main area will be open! Its kind of a long drive to risk not being able to use the big area, so Ive been hesitant to go again. :P I think today is the day though. I can feel it. ha!

ETA: just walked all 3 dogs. Brock & Alki have been on edge all day and REALLY needed an outing, Alki esp. Someone knocked on the door this afternoon and she reacted so badly that she wouldnt even respond when I called her OR when I tossed kibble immediately after. Walked her first, she did GREAT, even with residual "pops" here and there (remaining fireworks being lit off I guess) AND with the chihuahuas down the street that were going NUTS before we passed them. We turned around for a moment to wait for them to calm down, but I really needed to pass them to make the walk longer, so we jogged past while tossing treats and Alki took it like a champ. Then when we got back home we did some "look at that" while 2 of the neighbor dogs yapped away at her. Didnt stay too long cause I know she was hot/tired & I didnt wanna push it. Esp if she was feeling anxious inside but was too tired to show it.

Then I hosed down the boys out back, to keep them cooler, and walked them together. Its "only" 85 out there right now, but the sun is high and there's not much shade. A nice breeze though which kept me comfortable. I was okay, but the dogs just cant handle that heat. Still planning to take the boys to Hagen dog park tonight, but not until at least 7 or 8pm.
